GP referral
In some cases, I may require a GP referral letter prior to meeting for a consultation. You will always be asked for your permission, before I contact anyone else regarding your treatment. Such cases include any newly diagnosed condition, a complex medical history, or the need for blood test results and details of medication, prior to giving advice.
Health Insurance
I am registered with the following health insurance companies:

Please check that your health insurer covers you for dietetic advice. Most insurers require a consultant referral to the dietitian prior to authorising cover.
What to expect from your first consultation
- Depending on where in Glasgow you want me to see you, your session may last between 30 and 90 minutes.
- I will ask you for details of your current condition as well as your medical history.
- We will discuss your current diet and motivation for making changes to your diet or lifestyle.
- I may ask you to complete a food and drink (and, if relevant, symptom) diary. It is often helpful if you complete one prior to your consultation so that we can discuss it at the session. Please see this example diary, and an alternative that includes symptoms.
- We will set in place a plan for some initial changes as a stepping stone to achieving your goals.
- We will decide together what you require in terms of frequency and type of follow up.
- I may take measurements such as your weight, height and waist and hip circumferences if necessary.
- You will be asked to sign a consent form and terms and conditions.
